Meningitis B Outbreak
We are aware of the current Meningitis B outbreak. The MenB vaccination has been included in the routine childhood immunisation schedule since 2015 and is administered at 8 weeks, 12 weeks, and 1 year of age.
According to current NHS guidelines, this vaccination is only available to children under the age of two. At present, there has been no further guidance on whether eligibility will be extended to individuals over 2’s in response to the outbreak.
