How to make an Appointment

Appointments can be made online or by phone.

Calling in at our surgery:

Reception staff at the surgery will be pleased to arrange appointments for you and help you with any queries you may have.

They are here to help you obtain the best possible service from the Practice.

Please help them to help you by giving as much information as possible especially in an emergency.

All our practice staff sign and adhere to confidentiality agreements.


You can now book routine appointments online via Patient Access and my GP app.

Please note that the online consultation forms are available during the following times:

Monday to Friday: 8am to 5.00pm (excluding bank holidays)

At other times, you can get urgent advice or care by:

Welcome to our online consult page, please click on the relevant buttons on 'Consult your GP online' on the homepage of this website and you will be directed to our online forms.

The book an appointment button allows you to view a range of forms relevant to different problems. Please select the appropriate form for your reason why you are contacting us.

The Practice will aim to action the online consultation forms within 2 working days (excluding weekends and Bank Holidays).  Please note this does NOT MEAN that you will receive a call during this period. Once your form has been actioned, you will get a text message to inform you when you telephone consultation will take place. Please do not ring the surgery unless you want to cancel your telephone consultation. Please make sure you are available on the phone number you have provided for the Clinician to make contact with you. If you miss your call, YOU WILL NEED TO RE-SUBMIT A NEW ONLINE FORM.

All online consultation forms submitted by patients are directly and securely linked to Shrewsbury Road Surgery and come into our clinical system . These forms are then picked up by our staff who will distribute the form to the appropriate Clinician to action.

For general queries and prescription collection, reception will be open as follows:

Monday 8.00am - 6.30pm
Tuesday 8.00am - 6.30pm
Wednesday 8.00am - 6.30pm
Thursday 8.00am - 6.30pm
Friday 8.00am - 6.30pm
Saturday 8.30am - 12.00pm

Consultation Hours

Monday 9.00am - 12.30pm 3.00 - 6.30pm
Tuesday 9.00am - 12.30pm 3.00 - 6.30pm
Wednesday 9.00am - 12.30pm 3.00 - 6.30pm
Thursday 9.00am - 12.30pm

No afternoon consultations.
The Out Of Hours GP service is available

on 0207 511 8880

Friday 9.00am - 12.30pm 3.00 - 6.30pm

Each doctors' session is booked with 20 patients'; no further appointments will be given out. If you want to make a GP appointment for telephone consultation or video consultation, you can ring on 0300 033 7700 from 8am to 9am and 2pm to 3pm, Monday to Friday, except Thursday afternoon and then press Option 1 or book online. 

Consulting times are allocated a duration of 10 minutes per patient with a GP.

Practice Extended Hours

Saturday 8.30am - 12.30pm (Pre-booked appointments with our Nursing Team) 

On Sundays and Bank Holidays the surgery is closed all day.




Out of Hours & Weekend Cover

If you have an unexpected medical problem that cannot wait until we reopen please call 111. You will initially speak to a call handler and depending on the nature of your problem a doctor may call you back or you may be directed to another service eg. Our Out of Hours services on  0207 511 8880 or go to A&E (Only if you have serious illness).
